The After Series

The After Series
Now, if you are a reader, you know books and movies never add up. And OH EM GEE, it is so true, especially for this series! The film didn't show a lot of what I thought was essential and changed so so so much!
A rant is about to happen, haha! First, I hate how the movie made Tristan a girl. To me, that's a big change and threw me off when I started reading the book. The book version made Hardin more of a f*ck up and they changed the bet. The movie had the bet as "falling in love", while the book had it about Hardin taking Tessa's virginity. Again, BIG DIFFERENCE!
The part that I am most upset about is book four. The 3/4 of the book was back and forth fighting. Then Hardin started becoming a better person. The whole time I am cheering him on and love that he is changing. Thinking that it will be a happily ever after — which it is. But Anna Todd rushed the ending. The happily ever after was so short and rushed. I feel like the end could've been another book about how they are back together, having kids, etc.
In all, I did like the book series! I love how it wasn't your typical romance and that Anna Todd' showed the messy and complicated side of relationships — which made it more relatable! As for the movie and book, I like them separate. The movie is cute and currently on Netflix!! I would recommend reading the book first so that you don't get confused as I did lol.
