Book Talk: Scandalous (Sinners of Saint Series)

scandalous

Scandalous can be read as a standalone but it is part of the Sinners of Saint series and a part of Broken Knight. In case you want to read the others, I have my book talk posts down below for you to check out!

I highly recommend reading the whole series so that you capture snippets of Dean’s and Rosie’s life journey. *spoiler* Broken Knight is told through their daughter’s perspective.

For all my Kindle readers, Sinners of Saint series is on Kindle Unlimited for free to read!

“The ocean is her drug. She is mine.”

They may call him The Mute, but I am screaming at the top of my lungs on how freaking good Scandalous is! I just finished the book, and now I want to reread it. I am usually not big on age-gap romance but is Trent Rexroth really thirty-three, and Edie Van Der Zee is eighteen? No way. The way they are together is like two perfect puzzle pieces.

“I like you, you little diehard hustler. I like how you act like you’re equal to me, even though you aren’t. I like that you try to be a badass, when all you want to do is make my kid smile. I like your bark, and your bite, and everything in-between when we fight.”

Trent may be a millionaire now, but everything he has is from hard-work. He refuses to let anyone take that away from him—even his business partner and father to Edie. Trent is quiet but deadly, whereas Edie is resilient, strong, mature — always putting her loved ones first.

Trent, who is desperate to be a good father, tries to get his daughter, Luna, to speak, is surprised with how Luna reacts around Edie. To see the relationship between Luna and Edie amazes Trent, which pushes him to have Edie around his daughter as much as possible.

Their lust-filled hatred between the two turns into a forbidden affair that unravels into a race against time. As time passes by, secrets and truths push to come out threaten everything for them.

“I’m so fucking in love with you, Edie Van Der Zee, I don’t know where I end and where you begin anymore. I love you despite knowing that it is crazy. That our situations are disastrous. I love you knowing that you should have at least a few more experiences before you find the love. I love you even though we’re not at the same place in life, have nothing in common, and started off so fucking bad. And still, I love you.”
