23rd Birthday
Writing this blog post seems so surreal. I cannot believe that I am 23. I feel so young but yet so old now. With every birthday, we are continually reflecting on the past and the journey that we had to overcome. With every high and low, I would not change a single thing. At the end of the day, I am where I want to be, and I am so grateful for another year!!
GeorgeTown Train Ride
This birthday, Zane and I wanted to take a train ride through the mountains. I have never been on a train ever, but Zane has when he was about five. So we were extremely excited about this! We ended up going to Georgetown Train Ride Loop. We could see the leaves being a golden yellow through the mountains and it was beautiful. However, the train ride was not worth the price we paid. They said that it was a loop, but honestly, it was just a straight shot there and back, no loop. The ride was about an hour-long, and we barely saw anything that was “wow”. But I am so grateful to have this experience with Zane. For my first train ride, it was okay. I had nothing to compare it to, haha.
Mother's Saloon
After the train ride, we wandered around the town and came across this small restaurant call Mother’s Saloon. There was only one person there; he took the orders, he cooked, made drinks, he did everything!! The restaurant was on a creek with the best views of the trees. We sat outside with our drinks first, but it got a bit chilly, so we headed back inside and played pool while we waited for our food. We were able to fit a short game before the food came. I had the fish and shrimp tacos, and Zane had a burger, of course, haha. I swear this was the best taco of my life. It was so simple but so dang good!!! We both thought the dinner part was the best. We got to play pool, goofed around, and had a fantastic meal!
Ending the night with a fire pit back at the apartments and relaxed in the hot tub. Overall, I had such a fantastic chilled birthday!! Thank you, everyone, for all the sweet birthday messages!!!
